The Central Region
 

Just south of Albuquerque on Interstate 25 are Los Lunas and Belen, home of a state waterfowl refuge. Near Mountainair are extensive Indian and Spanish ruins. To the east of the Sandia Mountains are the historic mining towns of Cerrillos, Madrid and Golden. Coronado State Park and Monument is located near the town of Bernalillo.
