Central Oregon

Although Oregon is often associated with rain, Central Oregon enjoys blue skies and sunshine nearly 300 days a year, offering a year-round playground for kids of all ages. Its high desert landscape offers almost constant views of snowcapped Cascade peaks and features geologic marvels such as Smith Rock State Park, Newberry National Volcanic Monument and several Lava Lands attractions.

Snowsports dominate the winter months on Mt. Bachelor, while fly-fishing, hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing and some of the best golf around are just a few of the things that you can enjoy during the rest of the year. But outdoor activities are not the only way to fill your time in this region. Central Oregon is also host to world class museums and interpretive centers, and the Native American cultural activities abound.
