Northeast Region
The Northeast region of Pennsylvania is home to part of the endless mountains region,
superb recreational facilities, and the home of the The Pennsylvania State University in
State College which ranks among the ten largest universities in the country. State Forests
and two natural areas provide hikers, campers, hunters, fishing enthusiasts with
year-round recreation.Coal Mining & The Molly Maguires along with the sites of
numerous battles during both the French and Indian War and the Revolutionary War are just
a couple of examples of the region's history along with the Valley Forge area. Home to the
Little League World and a unique blend of low-tech loggin and dairy farming with a
high-tech economy of start-ups and work-at-home telecommuters make the region rich in
history and future.
